Hippity Hoppity in the Vineyards!

Vineyard Easter Egg Hunt - Francis Ford Coppola
Thousands of colorful eggs loaded with sweet goodies were hidden or shall we say placed in the beautiful vineyards of Francis Ford Coppola today.

There were three categories of hunts: ❤ years, 4-7 years and 8-12 years. Fun for everybody!

After the egg hunt, kids enjoyed the Petite Picasso art activity and the furry friends from Foggy River Farms, Healdsburg Animal Shelter and Safari West. You can also enjoy a special menu at the outdoor Pool Cafe.

The Easter Egg hunt is one of the winery’s most popular event. Space is limited to 400 children and reservations are always required. Don’t wait until the last minute, this year’s event sold out in less than 3 hours!

The nicest thing about this event is that 100% of proceeds are being donated to the Redwood Empire Food Bank!

…and… it was very nice to see a lot of familiar faces hopping in the vineyards! 🙂

Visiting Lucasfilm “Yoda Fountain” at the Presidio

This spring break we visited the headquarters of Lucasfilm. The 26″ life-sized famous Yoda statue is sitting on top of a fountain located at the entrance of the offices. The statue has become a tourist landmark!

Once we got there a tour bus arrived with “Star Wars” fans who wanted to take pictures with the Jedi Master Yoda and visited the lobby of the building to see a collection of other Star Wars artifacts. The lobby is open to the public during weekday working hours and you are more than welcome to take pictures.

Inside the Lucasfilm lobby you can appreciate wall-to-wall bookcases with books George Lucas read, Star Wars master replicas and awards. You can also find a shiny little statue of R2-D2, a life size Darth Vader and Boba Fett.  Sit on the comfy sofas and tables and enjoy the numerous Star Wars and Indiana Jones series of books.

I really enjoyed walking outside the Lucasfilm headquarters, the day was beautiful, the cherry trees were blooming with pretty pastel pink flowers and the view to the Exploratorium was absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Finding Inspiration at Inspiration Point

Inspiration Point overlook located in the Presidio National Park

One of my favorite spots to feel renewed is the Inspiration Point overlook located in the Presidio National Park. On a clear day, you can see Alcatraz, Angel Island, the top portion of the Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio forest and part of San Francisco. This is a relaxing and beautiful place to visit!

At the inspiration point you can take the stairs to the “Ecology Trail” for a closer look at the watershed. You can connect to the El Polin Springs trail, playing fields, and Julius Kahn Playground.

8th Annual Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA

Last year we went for the first time to the Maker Faire in San Mateo. The  Maker Faire is a two-day, family-friendly festival which embraces invention, creativity and resourcefulness. It was such a FUN and great experience. We loved to be around so many talented,  passionate and creative people. You will find there a technology expo, a craft show, engineering, design, science projects,  educators,  artists and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset….All in one place!

The Maker Faire  started in the Silicon Valley in 2006 and has grown in popularity. In  2012  the Bay Area Maker Fair had 100,000 people in attendance. Now the faire is expanding to Detroit,  New York and many mini faires around the world.
